Financial Controller

Do you have an interest in environmental and sustainability issues? Do you want to work in a team making a positive impact on the world?

Who we are

We’re a fast growing eco start-up business in Cambridge. As our products grow in popularity we’re starting to work with household names. We’ve won local and national awards and we’re securing regular media coverage.

We’re a small but hard-working team with a friendly working culture, and we’re looking to expand our workforce as the company continues to grow. We’re always on the look-out for candidates who can grow into roles carrying more responsibilities over time, and our ethos is to nurture and develop our team.

The Role

This is a Financial Controller / Finance Manager position working with the support of a part-time Finance Director. As the business continues to grow there is now a requirement for somebody to take charge of all finance and accounting tasks on a full-time or almost full-time basis.

The key tasks for this role will include:

· Sales analysis and reconciliations
· Stock/manufacturing accounting
· Month End journals, reconciliations & P&L review
· Management of the fixed asset register and depreciation
· Financial reporting
· Budgets/cashflow forecasting
· Customer invoicing and credit control
· Supplier/staff payments
· Bank reconciliations
· VAT reporting
· Payroll preparation and submission of information to the payroll agency
· Reviewing/approving purchase orders

There are also always new projects such as preparation of financial information for funders, creating profitability models for new business opportunities, and working on system improvements and documenting processes.

We expect everyone at BeeBee to be ready to roll up their sleeves and join in all the everyday tasks which are part of a fast moving small business.

The person we're looking for

We’re looking for somebody with the capability and attitude to hit the ground running and quickly take on responsibility for the areas mentioned above. Experience of stock and assembly/manufacturing accounting would be beneficial but is not essential with a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping. We’re open minded about whether your knowledge has come from experience or formal accounting qualifications. For somebody in the earlier stages of a finance career there is the opportunity to grow and develop into a more senior role as the business grows.

You should have a proactive ‘can do’ attitude as you will need to show initiative in a fast paced environment.

You should have an interest in taking care of the natural world and it’s important that you have respect for others and can get along in a team.

You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
